Challenge

Prior to starting up Kazih Kits, Chinedu Otakpor-Azih worked in a security guard company.

During this time, the company employed the services of several vendors supplying different components of the guards’ uniforms.

These vendors had no understanding of how they fit into the company’s goals (they just wanted to sell).

The results were delivery of substandard quality of supplies (which meant frequent replacement of uniforms, increasing cost of operations) and delay in deliveries from the different vendors.

Guards deployed at client locations were not fully kitted. Clients viewed the company as disorganised and unprofessional. On some occasions, newly signed contracts were terminated.

Frustrating as it was, the company wasn’t alone. This was also the experience of many security guard companies in Nigeria.

Taking Away the Frustration

In 2014, Chinedu Otakpor-Azih founded Kazih Kits. Her goal was to take away the frustrations being experienced in the sourcing of quality uniforms, kits, and accessories by security and safety companies in Nigeria.

The mission of Kazih Kits is simple. To provide a one-stop-shop for the production and delivery of quality uniforms and accessories for security and safety operations in an environmentally friendly manner.

As the company achieves its mission, it helps its clients appear professional and save money.

Having experienced these challenges in her previous job, Chinedu fully understood the negative impact on the reputation and profitability of security and safety companies.
